Raptor is a new manufacturer of “kit”, or more commonly known as "experimental" aircraft. They will locate their production facilities in Sebastian including a 35,000 square foot privately owned facility off the Airport for parts production and a new 15,000 square foot assembly facility next to the LoPresti operation on the east side of the Airport. V-Raptor will either ship parts kits to purchasers or assist the new owner with assembly at the Sebastian facility. The new hanger building will be identical in architecture to the LoPresti hanger and will be built by the City with funds from an FDOT grant of $1.16M and a loan from the City gas tax fund of $290,000 for a total of $1.45M. The loan will be repaid from hanger lease revenue. The City will retain ownership of the new hanger. Completion is expected by May 2011 with construction scheduled to commence in November 2010.
The Sebastian City Council approved the necessary leases and finances at its meeting on August 11, 2010.
V-Raptor plans to eventually bring at least 30 jobs to its two facilities |

The Sebastian Municipal Airport opened its airport viewing park in April 2010. The park is situated in front of the Airport Administration Building on the front right as you drive in. Children's play equipment and a picnic table are included in the fenced area adjacent to the airplane ramp area. There is an excellent view of the skydiving operations across the field, especially on weekends. All are welcome to use this latest addition to the Sebastian park system. |

The Sebastian Airport now has a complete pilot briefing facility available in the Airport Administration building on the east side of the airport. The Briefing Room is on your left just as you enter the building from the ramp. The briefing computer system normally displays the Sebastian Airport website. If you go to the "Pilot Briefing" section, you will find all the necessary websites for a complete pilot briefing including the local; weather conditions at X26. This facility is also available for those pilots with "wifi" capability in a laptop computer. Wifi coverage presently is just available in the lobby of the Administration Building. |
We have updated the website as of March 2010. Material changes have been made to the "Noise Abatement Procedures". Please observe these procedures as they have now been approved by the FAA and are in effect.
A new page for economic Development at the Sebastian Airport has been added to the website. This will cover all the grants and incentives that are available for new or updated businesses at the airport.
Please feel free to look around and don't forget to leave some comments on our Feedback page, so that we can improve your experience here!
